We have enough indoors accommodation for groups of up to 71 at any one time. These beds are split across three dormitories, all of which have their own shower and toilet facilities:

Barn Dorm: So called because it is a converted barn. It sleeps groups of up to 25 and has two separate single rooms for teachers / leaders. With its wooden and old stone interior, it provides a great atmosphere for large groups. NEW: STAFF-ONLY EN-SUITE TOILET AND SHOWER!

Myatt House: This is the old farm house, named after the last family to farm at Stanley Head. It comprises three main dormitories (split 7, 8, and 10 beds) as well as two single rooms for teachers / leaders. This building also has a lounge / dining area with real fire (and TV, video, DVD player and CD player), fully equipped kitchen and porch area for muddy boots and wet clothes. For groups just that little too large for the amount of beds, Myatt House has its own hidden back lawn where tents can be put up as additional sleeping space.

Myatt House has a real homely feel about it and is perfect as self-contained accommodation for hen and stag weekends, birthday parties and a host of other occasions. It was recently used by a local explorer scout unit for a murder mystery weekend – its many rooms and history lend itself perfectly for this type of activity.

New Block Dorm: Needs a more exciting name but is exactly as it says – a purpose built dormitory with 16 beds and an adjacent en-suite single staff bedroom.

Camping: Further to the indoor accommodation, we also have enough tents for groups of up to 100. Our tents are currently two and three man Vango Force Tens that are incredibly weather proof, easy to put up and an ideal introduction to camping. We are looking at buying some larger tents as well so watch this space.

Our guests tend to camp with us between April and October, with many schools choosing it instead of indoor accommodation for that extra sense of adventure for their pupils. However, if groups want to camp outside of our usual season, you are more than welcome. Please remember though that we cannot control the temperature even though we have a full complement of spare sleeping bags and roll mats.

Supervision: As long as we have School & Youth Groups staying with us during the week, we provide a member of staff who remains awake throughout the night to ensure the security of the site. This staff member is easily located and trained to deal with any eventuality.
