Stanley Head is proud to boast such a wide variety of wildlife living on our grounds or paying us visits. We have actively encouraged this through providing suitable habitats and working with agencies such as the Staffordshire Wildlife Fund. In the last twelve months the following species have been spotted by guests and staff on Stanley Head:
Birds: Blue Tit*, Great Tit*, Coal Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch*, Chaffinch*, Pied Wagtail*, Yellow Wagtail, Tree Creeper, Robin*, Tree Sparrow, House Sparrow*, Great Spotted Woodpecker*, Mistle Thrush*, Wren, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Little Owl, Tawny Owl, Great Crested Grebe*, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Pheasant, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Starling, Herring Gull, Blackbird*, Magpie, Swallow*, Wood Pigeon*, Collared Dove, Moorhen, Coot, Common Tern, Mallard, Canada Goose, Jay, Lapwing*Birds we believe are nesting on site, although it is likely there are a number of other species that we cannot be sure about Animals: Fox, Grey Squirrel, Field Mouse, Weasel, Stoat, Rabbit, Hare, Mole, Pipistrelle Bat, Frog, Common Toad, Grass Snake, Slow Worm
