Student Placements

We are currently offering two student placement positions to start in September-October 2010, running until Summer 2011. This opportunity applies to students on Outdoor Education, Adventure Management, Outdoor Leadership (and similar courses) that require a placement as part of the course.  The placement will last a minimum of 35 weeks. Full accommodation on site and board will be provided as well as on-the-job training and a weekly expenses allowance.

Apprenticeships

If you are between 16 and 19, have a passion for the outdoors and are committed to making a career in Outdoor Education, this may be he perfect opportunity for you. This is an 18 month programme delivered in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent College and includes an NVQ L2, NGB qualifiactions and substantial on-the-job training and experience. Mobile Climbing Wall

 Stanley Head has recently purchased a mobile wall to take to events in and around Stoke-on-Trent. We are looking for someone to lead these days. You must have D1 and E on your license so that you are able to tow, and you must be confident towing. You should also have experience of working with children, and working under pressure. An SPA qualification is desirable but not essential as on-the-job training can be provided. Some experience of climbing would be preferable though.

This will be a zero hour contract and is likely to be seasonal but the successful applicant will have the opportunity to create their own work by marketing the Wall and working with the Head of Centre to find new bookings. You must be able to work onyour own initative, and as part of a small team, and be personally highly motivated.
